PETG is a kind of South 1, 4 a cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) to ethylene glycol (EG) and terephthalic acid (TPA) condensation polyester (PET) for copolymer modification of polyester, is a kind of amorphous copolyester. The material has high transparency, high impact resistance, high hardness and good low temperature toughness. It is widely used in the fields of board sheet, high performance shrink film, profile, toys, food, high grade packaging materials, etc. 

    PETG has been used more and more in the card industry because of its lower gadding temperature (around 100%), higher mechanical strength and excellent flexibility, higher transparency than PVC, good gloss, easy to print and has environmental advantages. 

    in Europe, the United States, Elben, PETG material is widely used in electronic payment and identification documents, Visa has recognized PETG as its card base material. in China, PETG has been used as a card base material for some high-grade cards and important legal documents. 

    The main manufacturers of PETG resin in the world are Eastman and SK. The manufacturers of card-based materials buy PETG resin and its formula through calendering or cast casting to form plates, sheets, films, etc. There are currently four domestic manufacturers of PETG materials, all of which use imported Eastman resin to produce card-based materials. At present, it is not very widely used in the smart card industry.
