Magnetic stripe card is a magnetic recording medium card. It is made of high-strength, high-temperature resistant plastic or paper coated with plastic, moisture-proof, wear-resistant and flexible, easy to carry, more stable and reliable in use. Usually, one side of the magnetic card is printed with suggestive information, such as the direction of insertion; the other side has a magnetic layer or stripe with 2-3 magnetic channels to record relevant information data.

Magnetic stripe cards are divided into high and low magnetic stripe cards. Low magnetic stripe cards are cheap and easy to manage, so some businesses use low magnetic stripe cards for their membership cards. However, the magnetic stripe can be easily demagnetised, causing great inconvenience to the user, and so far the magnetic stripe has gradually been phased out. High-precision magnetic stripe cards are relatively expensive compared to low-precision magnetic stripe cards, but the magnetic stripe has a longer retention time and the information written on the card is not easily lost. And it is not easily demagnetised.

Although the magnetic stripe card is a carrier of information, the secrecy function of the magnetic stripe card is not very strong, so the magnetic stripe card has been gradually eliminated in the financial field, and the financial ic card is being vigorously promoted.
